Supervision for Therapists

I am a BACP accredited counsellor, in my late 50’s, who has trained in supervision through COSCA and conversant with dynamics that can emerge in the therapy process.

I provide a choice of supervision that meets with requirements for professional standards set by BACP in relation to agency settings and independent practice.

About my Supervision Service

I have trained in Supervision through COSCA (2007) and conversant with dynamics that can emerge in the therapy process.

I provide Supervision to qualified Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Counselling Psychologists.  I also provide Supervision of Supervision.

I have a particular interest in working with qualified School Counsellors.

The focus of the supervision will be on the Supervisee’s practice and any other relevant issues.  I offer Supervision that is collaborative, respectful and supportive.

My speciality is working with Transference and Counter-transference, Unconscious Processes, Parallel Process and Attachment Theory (Adverse Childhood Experiences).

I also work creatively to help with the Supervisory process.

The Supervision is intended to offer the Supervisee a constructive space to examine practice and grow.

About Supervision:

A Supervisor is not just accountable for a Supervisee’s actions and managing their workload and remit, they also help them reflect and develop.  This can cover discussion of their role, the interface between personal and professional, how they wish to develop, helping them to link theory and practise and to formulate what is going on with complex cases.

The Benefit

A Supervisee benefits from Supervision to monitor their work with clients and to guarantee the best possible way forward to their professional and personal development.

The relationship between Supervisee and Supervisor serves as a safe container for the Supervisee.

It is important to explore your needs first and to determine whether I am able to help you.  I will always work with you to bring the best from your particular skills and style of practice to those who use your services.

Supervision is offered in the following ways:

  • individual 1 – 1 session (face to face, telephone or on-line)
  • supervision for supervisors (face to face, telephone or on-line)
Please note:  Counsellors working in UK setting only

“Renee is extremely knowledgeable and understanding. She made me feel very comfortable about talking about things. I am enjoying my time with her and she really helped me. For me it is really important to feel at extreme ease with someone in order to share and I felt that with her immediately. Everything is also done in strict confidence as well which also which makes it easier for me to share. She is also a great listener and gives me ideas on how I can change things. An outsiders perspective is always amazing especially someone who is aware of the human psyche”
