Counselling and Psychotherapy

Talking Therapy

Talking therapy can help all sorts of people in lots of different situations. Talking therapy is for anyone who is going through a bad time or has emotional problems they can’t sort out on their own. Sometimes it’s easier to talk to a stranger than to relatives or friends. I can help you find your own answers to problems with listening and without judgement. It’s an opportunity to look at your problems in a different way with respecting you and your opinions.

Individual and Couple Counselling

About the Counselling Sessions:

Counselling is offered in a private room where your confidentiality will be respected at all times.

Any personal information you disclose will be held by me in accordance with current Data Protection procedures.

In exploring your present difficulties I will assist you to gain an in-depth understanding of underlying tensions and anxieties that may be holding you back from achieving your aims, and from developing confidence in your relationships with others.

I remain sensitive to the unique experience of each person in a couple and how their relationship needs are met.

Sessions:
You can choose a set of sessions (usually minimum 6) with the option to review or open-ended therapy.  The sessions are of a 50 minute duration and are normally weekly.

Appointments:

  • Appointments can be arranged by e-mail or by phone.
  • Appointments are normally weekly.
  • Self-referrals and enquiries from GP’s, health care services and social services are welcome.

Unfortunately, I do not operate a ‘drop-in’ service but do aim to answer all enquiries within 24 hours so that waiting time is kept to a minimum.

“Renee is extremely knowledgeable and understanding. She made me feel very comfortable about talking about things. I am enjoying my time with her and she really helped me. For me it is really important to feel at extreme ease with someone in order to share and I felt that with her immediately. Everything is also done in strict confidence as well which also which makes it easier for me to share. She is also a great listener and gives me ideas on how I can change things. An outsiders perspective is always amazing especially someone who is aware of the human psyche”
